He has led multiple companies in various market segments to successful exits in the form of mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs. Most recently, Ash has been with Horizon Ventures, a Venture Capital firm with over $160 million fund, with focus on multiple market segments including semiconductors, telecom/networking, and nano technology. He was also responsible for supporting portfolio companies on an interim basis in different management roles. Prior to this, Ash co-founded and led Bay Microsystems, a network processor company. Here he built the infrastructure from inception and delivered a working product while raising two rounds of venture capital. Prior to Bay, he co-founded and led Rise Technology Company, a low-power microprocessor company, raising the initial venture round and putting together the management team and the infrastructure for the company. He was also instrumental in turning around Global Village Communications, a communications company building modems for Apple products, and helping the company to grow from an annual run rate of $10 million to over $70 million prior to its IPO. He worked at Intel in various operational roles in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business Development prior to taking on senior executive roles at Xilinx, S3, Paradigm Technology and Tyan Computers. He has also been a consultant to many start-ups. Ash started his career as a Process Engineer at Texas Instruments.
Ash received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and MBA in Finance/Ops Research from Osmania University, India. He also received his Masters in Engineering from Texas Tech University.

He was an early member and employee at Zeitnet, a Silicon Valley startup pioneering ATM networking, which was later acquired by Cabletron. He has extensive experience in creating, leading and managing cross-border teams. He has contributed multi-million dollars in revenue generation through strategic marketing and business development for technology companies. He holds several patents in field of multi-service networking and mobile applications.

Brad Whalen
Brad Whalen is a licensed CPA with over 20 years of auditing, financial management and Controllership experience in various industries, spending the last 8 years working with startup companies. Most recently, Brad worked at Virgin Mobile USA LLP, where he performed the Controllership responsibilities for the IT and Customer Care Divisions. Brad was also part of Virgin's SOX Compliance team that documented their internal controls and accounting processes, and Brad oversaw the daily activities of his departments to insure compliancy. Prior to Virgin, Brad was Controller of Bay Microsystems Inc., where he managed their financial operations. Brad also negotiated contracts with vendors and performed the Human Resources functions. Prior to Bay, Brad worked in Public Accounting with Frank, Rimerman & CO. LLP, both in their Audit Department and Consulting Department. His duties included performing CFO and Controllership functions for startup companies, establishing accounting policies, developing business models, preparing financial forecasts, effectively managing costs, and performing due diligence for potential acquisitions.
Brad received a B.S. in Finance from Santa Clara University. He is currently pursuing an Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential.
Carlos Dangelo
Carlos Dangelo is a veteran of the nanotechnology and semiconductor industries with over 30 years of experience in starting up companies and developing innovative technologies: custom chips, photo-voltaic, nanotechnology. He has vast experience with IP strategy and development (patent, know-how, tech transfer) with a large portfolio of issued patents. He has successfully managed large Technical Teams in high tech companies with products and business in semiconductor, software, hardware and nano-material development. Carlos founded and was the CTO of Nanoconduction Inc., an advanced material company solving problems of performance degradation due to temperature of LEDs and microprocessors from Sony, AMD. Based on the initial technology licensed from NASA-Ames, the company developed products and also installed manufacturing lines to sample and qualify customers in the US and Japan. He hired the initial founding team (CEO) and upon series A funding hired the core technical team. The company was engaged with customers at qualification stage when it got sold in mid 2007. He has developed and launched software products for the global market. While at Synopsys Inc., he led worldwide Application Engineering Team with responsibility to sustain customers launching 3G telecommunication products (Nokia, Siemens, NEC corporate account, etc.). He successfully managed coordination across marketing, R&D, application and sales of new software development project resulting in worldwide product launch with $100MM potential. Carlos spent over 10 years as V.P. of Advanced Development at LSI Logic Corp, responsible for system on a chip development to sustain innovation of various custom products and support revenue plan. He developed the company’s software/hardware infrastructure to grow its business from $200M to $1.5B revenue. He also successfully launched and managed joint customer-development activities with strategic partners like Synopsys, IBM, Cadence and others. Carlos was also the Technology Manager at Fairchild Semiconductor as well as at National Semiconductor with responsibility to launch ASIC products for both companies.
Carlos Dangelo has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon and a large portfolio of issued patents to his credit.
Chandrika Anil
Chandrika Anil has over 18 years of experience in the areas of Human Resources Development, Management Development Training and Public Relations. She has worked with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI - set up by the Government of India in 1991 to encourage software exports from India) for 13 years. She was responsible for initiating the process for setting up the HR department and implementing HR policies and activities which was supported and later adopted by many centers of STPI. She managed the coordination of national and international delegates for one-on-one Business meetings and also participated in national and international events in India and abroad in coordination with state governments. She was also the Manager of Human Resources at Revere Group India Pvt Ltd (an offshore business centre of NTT Data company) and SemIndia Systems (an ODM for telecom products). She has successfully conceptualized various HR policies, set up HR departments, set up and managed management development training programs, and created platforms for Employee Engagement programs; subsequently she continued these activities as the Manager for Membership Services with India Semiconductor Association (ISA) which is the leading voice for the semiconductor-driven industry since 2005. ISA is a member-driven organization, with programs that support the objectives of its members and the external stakeholders of government, investors and the ecosystem.
Chandrika is a Commerce Graduate with General Management Program from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore IIMB and is Certified Learning & Development Manager from Carlton Advanced Management Institute. She is also pursuing MBA-HR from Symbiosis – PUNE.

Krishna also revamped the company messaging to establish the company as a credible provider of high-value solutions and clearly differentiated from large, entrenched vendors. Prior to Atrenta, Krishna founded and built a PLM software startup company ground-up and sold the products to many global semiconductor customers such as Toshiba, Motorola, Cypress semiconductor and ST Microelectronics. Krishna’s early career included engineering management positions at CAD industry leaders such as Daisy Systems and Cadence Design Systems.

Lee Zipin
Lee Zipin's 32-year technical career includes engineering, marketing and corporate management positions with a variety of startups in computing and communications. His experience with multiple engineering disciplines, including both analog and digital hardware and their associated firmware and software, spans from -48 Vdc and 300 bps modems to wavelength-division multiplexing systems operating with 1,550 nm (193.55 THz) lasers, and from 6502 eight-bit assembly language to Internet-served (software-as-a-service) Web 2.0 applications. In 1998 Lee co-founded LuxN with a product architecture that delivered optical networking for enterprise applications. As Engineering VP and CTO he built the engineering team, defined the company's technical direction, and helped to raise multiple rounds of venture funding before selling the company. More recently, Lee served as Engineering VP for Intransa, where he implemented market-driven, project-managed disciplines to bring costs down and increase engineering efficiency, product reliability and margins.

Mario Nemirovsky
Mario Nemirovsky has over 34 years of experience as a research scientist, academician and serial entrepreneur involved with multiple private and public companies, and various governmental agencies in the US, Europe and Latin America. Mario has been vice president, chief scientist, and a founder of ConSentry and also an ICREA Research Professor at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. In addition, he recently founded Miraveo Inc, a mobile connectivity company. He pioneered the concept of Massively Multithreading (MMT) processing for the high performance processor as well as Simultaneous Multithreading architecture (SMT). Mario was an adjunct professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara. He has been in research and development in many areas of computer architecture including high-performance architectures, and real-time and network processors. Mario also founded two network processor companies, XstreamLogic and FlowStorm. Before that, he was a chief architect at National Semiconductor, Apple Computers and Weitek. At Delco Electronics (GM) in 1985, he architected an engine control processor still used in all GM cars today. Mario first published on dynamic multi-streaming in Micro-24 in 1991, and he subsequently published results on SMT in HICSS (in 1993 and 1994) and in PACT (in 1995). Mario holds 48 issued and over 20 pending patents and has co-authored more than 30 publications.
Mario has received multiple awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year and one of the 100 most influential Latinos in the area by the Hispanic Net in San Jose, California. Mario received his PhD in ECE from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Nik Rajdev
Nik Rajdev has over 19 years of experience in product marketing and hardware engineering at communication systems, video and consumer product companies. Most recently, Nik has been consulting for both start-ups and large corporations including LevelVision, Thomson, DiTango-VideoQ and Philips in the areas of product marketing, ASIC emulation and FPGA development. At LevelVision, a start-up, Nik helped define, do market research for, and develop a prototype of LevelVision's next generation digital signage product. At Gyration (a Thomson Company) acquired by Movea in 2008, Nik was responsible for the product marketing on multiple new product launches to retail and OEM customers, including all collateral development. In addition, Nik was involved in all phases of the new product development cycle of Gyration's mouse and remote products. At DiTango-VideoQ, a start-up developing video enhancement and measurement products, Nik was involved in porting the video enhancement algorithm to a Xilinx FPGA, as well as developing the marketing collateral. Finally, at Philips Semiconductor, Nik's primary responsibility was FPGA Emulation of the PCI Express Video Bridge ASIC. Prior to that, Nik was product marketing manager at Bay Microsystems, where he was the product marketing lead for Montego, the world's first single chip OC192c/10G Internetworking Processor, Traffic Manager and SAR. As an early employee at Bay, Nik was also a responsible for managing partner relations and a member of the corporate launch team. Prior to Bay, Nik was a team lead at VOD start-up DIVA Systems. At DIVA, he was co-architect and chassis lead for the DIVA Digital Link, an MPEG2 Stream Based interconnect between the Video Server and HFC Network. Nik has also held various engineering positions at Corsair Communications, Rockwell, & TRW and was the keynote speaker at the seminar: Faster, Easier ASIC Prototyping.
Nik has an MBA from Santa Clara University, BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and holds two patents.
Oindrila Ray
Oindrila Ray has over 13 years of experience in semiconductor/nanostructure (silicon and wide band gap) fabrication, characterization and process integration. Most recently Oindrila has been consulting with startups in the MRAM space. Oindrila was the second employee to join the Cypress MRAM subsidiary (later divested) and was involved in setting up the process and fab integration, operations and backend logistics. Prior to working in MRAM, Oindrila was a Senior Engineer in the Cypress R&D group working on Advanced Lithography and Metrology. Oindrila was also a Researcher-in-Residence at DotEdu Ventures where she performed due diligence on autonomous computing and nanotechnology sectors. She has published in 7 scientific journals and has had her work presented at several American Physical Society and Electronic Materials conferences. She was a part of the collaboration between Penn State and QUEST (Center for Quantized Electronic Structures) UC Santa Barbara.
Oindrila holds a Ph.D in Physics from Pennsylvania State University and an M.Sc in Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
Paul Gulati
Paul Gulati brings with him over 39 years of management experience in sales, marketing, technology and operations from start-ups to large multinational fortune 500 companies. Paul is also an entrepreneur with successful exits, M&A and business restructuring experience. Paul enjoys building strategic valuation for the entities. Most recently, Paul completed an M&A of a 13 years old Silicon Valley company, led in the acquisition and transfer of technology of a US company for a company in India, and is restructuring an IP company, with the potential of a global market, for a strategic partnership. In 2003, Paul cofounded Brilliant Telecom and managed several development projects, initial sales and business development activities, and also helped in Angel and Series A funding. He also held a strategic consulting assignment with Cisco Systems prior to joining Versatile Optical Systems which was acquired by Vitesse Corporation in 2001. Paul has also been an officer and VP of NUKO, Inc., a Public company, responsible for OEM and Carrier sales, global marketing, strategic partnerships and business development.

Prior to Merril Lynch Ravi has had experience in the Real Estate and Insurance industries.

Ravi Tolwani
Over the past 17 years, Ravi Tolwani has had experience in a combination of comprehensive life sciences and business expertise having overseen operations of organizations in both academia and industry. As an associate vice president of The Rockefeller University where he oversaw and provided strategic direction to several core scientific programs consisting of 120 professionals and specialists, he has established highly successful industry partnerships and been involved in over $36MM of capital infrastructure investments at the university. Prior to The Rockefeller University he was on faculty at the Stanford University School of Medicine where he maintained a neuroscience laboratory and was uniquely involved in reviewing numerous innovative programs in the life sciences and medical devices. Ravi is an active consultant to numerous biopharma companies and has broad expertise and clear understanding of key challenges faced by life science companies at different stages of development.
He holds a D.V.M. from Auburn University, a Ph.D. in molecular pathology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a M.S. in Management (Sloan Fellow) from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Richard Yi
Richard Yi has over 32 years of experience in semiconductor industry with extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, and product development. Most recently, he was a cofounder and VP of global operations at Applied MicroStructures, an innovative nanoscale thin films capital equipment company. Under his direction, the company successfully launched its first product in less two years, and sold over 40 systems in the following two years while introducing the next generation product. The Company received numerous awards from commercial, research and development, and government agencies for product innovations and technology development. It also received an export award from the Dept of Commerce. Prior to Applied Microstructures, Richard was involved with managing high tech projects including submicron wafer fab start ups at IDT; product development for application specific process and technology for wafer fabs, and training of sales and engineering team at BOC Gases and BOC Edwards; successful materials identification and applications, low-k dielectric and copper interconnect, for sub 0.18 micron CMOS technologies for clients such as ASML, AMAT, and WJ as a consultant; successful metrological solutions and process enhancement for PVD films for HDD applications at Seagate, Hitachi, and Intevac as a consultant. He was also employed in his early career as thin films engineer at IBM, overseeing the tool and process reliability and reproducibility, line engineering supervisor at AMD and development engineer at Intel.
Richard received his BS in Physics from Korea University and holds 8 US patents and 3 International Patents.
Sudhanshu Pant
Sudhanshu Pant is an engineering/technology management professional with over 20 years of experience spanning Defense, Finance, Mobile and Education sectors. Most recently, Sudhanshu was Managing Director in Information Technology Group at Harvard Business School, leading the software organization comprising of Architecture, Application Development, Database Services and Quality Engineering functions. Prior to Harvard Business School, Sudhanshu managed a group of Technologists at Sun Microsystems evolving and standardizing the Java Platform for mobile devices and consumer electronics. In this role, he led a team driving initiatives in various technology standards bodies and industry alliances like the JCP (Java Community Process), OMA (Open Mobile Alliance), OMTP (Open Mobile Terminal Platform), W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), JCF (Java Card Forum), DVB-MHP (Multimedia Home Platform), OCAP (Open Cable Application Platform), Blu-Ray and Khronos. Sudhanshu held various engineering management positions at Nokia, creating pioneering products for Mobile Web Browsing, Mobility Middleware and Multimedia Messaging. His role covered people, process and technology management in a global, multi-cultural and matrix environment across US, Finland, Hungary and India. Sudhanshu also represented Nokia at the Open Mobile Alliance (for Dynamic Content Delivery and Download Over-The-Air) and Java Community Process (for XML Technologies, Java Database Connectivity and Business Process Management). Prior to Nokia, Sudhanshu held software engineering positions at Fidelity Investments and Megaware in the Financial Applications area. Sudhanshu started his career as a Scientist with India’s Defense R&D Organization focusing on Enterprise Information Systems and Satellite Image Processing.
Sudhanshu earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics, both from the University of Allahabad (India). He is an IEEE Senior Member and PMI Member and has earned professional certifications from Project Management Institute (PMP), Sun (Enterprise Java Architecture) and Oracle (Databases). Sudhanshu also earned a Master’s degree in
Indian Classical Music and performed over All India Radio for several years.
Surin Chowdhury
Surin Chowdhury has over 32 years experience in the Semiconductor industry with a successful record of accomplishments in product development, engineering, manufacturing and operations. Most recently he was VP of Operations at Nethra Imaging where he led the development of high performance image processors for mobile applications. Prior to Nethra Imaging, he was Director of product, test Engineering and foundry operations at Platys communications, a storage over IP solutions startup, that was acquired by Adaptec Inc. in 2001. Surin also served as Director, Multimedia Engineering at Sierra Semiconductor, engaged in the development of Graphics processors and Video DACs . He has also held Management positions at National Semiconductor in the 32 bit microprocessor group, at VLSI Technology in the Custom Foundry and Communication ASIC product lines, and at American Microsystems.
Surin has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Srinagar, India and a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, U.K.
Syd Whalen
Syd Whalen has over 47 years of successful experience in managing the financial and operational affairs of both healthy and distressed companies. He has served as CFO, CEO, COO or GM of mid-sized to large companies in a wide diversity of industries, both domestically and internationally. Syd has worked in various capacities in rapid growth situations, workouts, divestitures, liquidations and bankruptcy proceedings. He has managed large organizational units, implementing risk and cost containment strategies, financial controls and internal and operational controls. He has supervised the activities of accounting, internal control, treasury, tax and various administrative departments at corporate headquarters and domestic and international branches. As VP Finance and Administration/CFO for Kaiser Engineers, a multi-billion global engineering company, he managed the company’s growth of 150 % supervising 600 people worldwide. For example, in Australia, his staff managed the growth from a staff of five in Sydney to staffs of one thousand in each of the Sydney and Perth offices in a six month period. At Kaiser Engineers he also successfully turned around distressed subsidiaries in Brazil and Korea and negotiated sale of each. His work with distressed companies has been in many diverse industries, including various construction specialties, engineering, distribution, manufacturing, real estate, banking, leasing, mining, fishing and retail. He has worked as both a hands-on executive, and as a consultant. Syd co-founded two financial services companies, grew one of them to $20 million in sales and sold them both. First, he started an independent securities firm with a partner, where he managed all non-regulated operations. Syd then formed a holding company, corporate broker-dealer and third subsidiary for non-regulated activities. He established branch operations and recruited the staff, growing the company from four brokers in one location to 190 brokers in 50 branches over six years. After the sale of the first company, he started the second firm with a partner. Once again, he formed a holding company to own the corporate broker-dealer as well as real estate, which he managed. He sold this broker-dealer after two years.
Vijay Aima
Vijay Aima is a senior management professional with over 39 years of experience with well known private and public organizations. He has strong business and managerial acumen with abilities in leading cross-functional teams across new business development, strategic planning, key account management, materials management, network customisation/technical support to achieve organizational objectives and profitability targets. Vijay has assessed and responded to trends that influence the effectiveness of the organizations, understands the requirements of customers and make the right technology choices, monitor the activities of functional departments, ensure delivery and quality norms as well as develop and retain the right people. He has planned, managed and executed Telecom Projects and Core Telecom Networks for ITI Ltd clients like the Indian Army, MTNL and BSNL; forging alliances with technology partners; developing resources/solutions for greater value addition/performance, steering the gamut of tasks including planning and coordination of logistics, implementation of business objectives through CapEx/OpEx controls, and operation & maintenance of Networks. In addition to this his career spans various Public Sector projects in Agro Industries and Hydroelectric Power.
Vijay received his BE degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Srinagar, India. He has a number of management training courses under his belt including Advanced Project Management; Cost Reduction; Materials Management; Behavioural Science Application; Industrial Relations; and, Business Excellence skills.
William Loesch
William Loesch has over 32 years of experience in founding and managing computer software and hardware companies with extensive experience in consumer oriented technologies and products. Most recently William served as COO & Board Member at GuardID Systems, a Consumer internet security start-up developing and marketing ID Vault products designed to protect consumers from online fraud. He raised the initial $5 million in venture capital for the firm and grew the company sales to $2.5MM in 2 years. Prior to GaurdID, William was with Pinnacle Systems for 13 years where he started and ran Pinnacle Systems’ Consumer Division for over a decade, creating a worldwide brand and growing the division to $250MM in annual revenues. Prior to Pinnacle Systems he started ShoGraphics targeting the high-end 3D graphics market and IKOS Systems in the computer aided engineering market.
William is a graduate of UC Berkeley’s Electrical Engineering Department where he obtained his B.S and M.S. degrees.
